I loved to make handmade gifts ever since I was young. Instead of buying something from the store, it was a way I could show my appreciation to people by taking the time to plan and make something heartfelt.
The necklace I crafted for my friend's prom dress was made to match the sparkly blue fabric that would shine brightly under the night sky. The photo below is of a model of myself with the necklace and a simple white dress, photoshopped to make it look like a mannequin showcasing the beautiful blue heart and crystal.
After being on the track team for the majority of my middle and high school careers, there was one individual I really respected for her leadership, strength, and tenacity to compete. She was one year above me, and she was admitted to USC when I made this keychain. Using a 3D printer, I designed and printed a simple mold to create its shape with UV resin and printed letters to show a quote that describes her character. To achieve the USC colors, I used nail polish to gloss over each lettering.
Instead of buying bouquets that will wilt within a mere couple of days, I wanted to send my circle of friends off to college with bags I printed my designs on, which would last for much longer. In the past, I remembered each and every one of their favorite animals and would make or get gifts that were related to what they liked. For this project, I used Adobe Illustrator and Rhino to design their favorite fruits and printed them onto bags with iron-on papers.
