During my first semester of studying architecture at USC, I wanted to explore the idea of moving architecture. For this project, we tackle what a space could mean for a person in a simple form of a cube. The cube's faces, edges, and vertices are the limits, but the possibilities are endless. I wanted to create a space that can move with the person, literally. Sliding screens for me had many meanings. It can act as both shade and partitions, they can open up spaces or close off spaces, to give access to different floors or to block off that access, to enable privacy or disable it. Some faces have multiple screens, some screens extend to both floors, some of them are within the cube, and some only have one use while others have more. As we proceed to the bottom of this page, the many possibilities of how one can use each sliding screen relative to time and how they spend each of their days.
